Welcome to Maple Class

Maple Class is led by the class teacher, Simon, and supported by a skilled and amazing team of Teaching Assistants, Demiee and Sam.

We work closely as a team to ensure that our wonderful students receive high-quality teaching alongside personalised care and support to meet their individual needs.

In Maple Class, we create a safe and relaxed environment where learners are able to be themselves and explore learning about the world around them and develop essential knowledge and skills for a successful and independent future.

Our reading books for the Autumn term

During this autumn term we are reading the 13-Storey Treehouse by Andy Griffiths & Terry Denton and Matilda by Roald Dahl. The 13-Storey Treehouse tells the weird and wacky story of 2 friends and their multi-storey treehouse of wonders, whilst Matilda tells the story of a young, but brilliant little girls who discovers not only a love for reading and learning, but what happens when her full potential is not tapped into.

Our topics for the Autumn term

Our timetable includes daily English and Maths lessons, alongside Science, Humanities, PE, PSHE, Creative Arts and the chance to enjoy outdoor learning with Forest School. Throughout the curriculum there are plenty of opportunities for pupils to develop their communication, social skills and independence. We aim to provide plenty of opportunities to encourage pupils to grow in confidence, work together with others and develop positive wellbeing, while having fun and exploring the world around them.
