Admissions
Conifers House School is an independent special school for pupils aged 5 to 16 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
We welcome referrals from local authorities, families, and professionals seeking a therapeutic and personalised education for children with autism, communication needs, and complex learning profiles.
Who We Support
All pupils at Conifers House School will have:
- An EHCP in place
- A primary need of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), or associated learning difficulties such as Global Developmental Delay (GDD)
- A requirement for personalised learning, emotional regulation support, and integrated therapeutic provision
We offer a small, nurturing environment with three curriculum pathways designed to support pupils across a wide range of cognitive profiles and needs. Our approach is best suited to pupils who require a high level of structure, predictability, individual attention, and therapeutic support to thrive in education.
Admissions Process
Placements are typically commissioned by local authorities.
The process includes:
- Consultation received from the local authority or enquiry from the family/professionals
- Review of EHCP and supporting documents by our admissions team
- Observation visits or meeting with the child (once appropriate)
- Decision communicated to the local authority and/or family
- Transition planning and phased start, tailored to each pupil’s needs
All placement offers are made subject to:
- Availability of space within the relevant pathway
- Compatibility with the needs, profiles, and safety of the existing pupil cohort
- Confirmation of funding and placement agreement with the local authority.
- Parents and carers are encouraged to communicate their interest in Conifers House School through their SEN case officer.
