Welcome to Oak Class

Our team is made up of brilliant Teacher, Jess, and fantastic Teaching Assistants Amy, Steff, Olivia and Kerry. In Oak class, every day is an opportunity for curiosity, exploration and growth. We believe in a multi-sensory approach to learning and encourage our pupils to engage with the world through play and hands-on activities.

In our classroom, our mornings are dedicated to phonics, English and maths, where we build confidence and foundational skills through creative, structured learning. In the afternoons, we explore other areas of the curriculum that encourage pupils to develop curiosity, independence and social skills.

We deliver Forest School once a week, allowing pupils to learn and grow in an outdoor environment. These sessions support confidence, cooperation and independence as children explore nature, take managed risks and develop practical skills. Learning outdoors also helps pupils build resilience, wellbeing, confidence and positive relationships.

Supporting communication is a key focus in our class. We help pupils to develop their confidence and express themselves in ways that work best for them, using a range of strategies and resources to meet individual needs. Through consistent routines, visual support and adult modelling, we ensure every child has the opportunity to communicate and be understood.
