Our Curriculum
At Conifers House School, we believe that every pupil deserves a curriculum that is personalised, meaningful, and empowering.
Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of children and young people with autism, communication needs, and complex learning profiles, supported through an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
We offer a broad, balanced, and ambitious curriculum that develops communication, independence, emotional regulation, and life skills — all underpinned by therapeutic support and EHCP outcomes.
Foundations for the Future
Our curriculum prioritises:
- Functional literacy and numeracy
- Communication skills (including AAC and social communication)
- Emotional regulation and wellbeing
- Life skills and independence
- Creativity, curiosity, and confidence
Whether a pupil is developing early engagement or working towards formal qualifications, our goal is to equip them with the tools to lead a confident, fulfilling life.
How We Teach
Teaching at Conifers is:
- Multisensory and structured, but responsive and playful
- Delivered in small groups, with opportunities for 1:1 sessions
- Supported by specialist teaching staff and therapists
- Designed around topics and themes, drawn from National Curriculum objectives and pupil interests
