What we do
We are an independent special school for children aged 5 to 16.
All our pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) and present with complex profiles including autism, communication and interaction needs, and associated learning differences. Many of our pupils also have sensory processing needs, emotional regulation needs, and require specialist therapeutic support.
Our carefully designed curriculum is fully personalised, therapeutic, and aspirational, supporting each pupil to develop communication, independence, emotional wellbeing, and academic progress in a way that is meaningful and relevant to them.
We recognise that for many of our pupils, learning has previously been a challenge. At Conifers House School, we work to rebuild confidence, engagement, and a love for learning through a curriculum that is creative, hands-on, and rooted in real-life experiences.
The Local Offer
Local Authorities across the UK publish a Local Offer, which details services and support for children and young people with SEND.
Our pupils are placed by West Sussex Local Authority and neighbouring areas, including Surrey and Hampshire. You can find more information about SEND services in West Sussex on the West Sussex Local Offer.
We also follow the statutory guidance outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education.
